This Privacy Policy details the practices that apply to the personal information we collect about you as a user when you visit or use our website. All information collected while visiting or using our website will be treated in accordance with DSC’s Privacy Policy and will not be shared unless otherwise stated in DSC’s Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy does not apply to the information our affiliates or third-party websites may collect about you, whether through links, advertising, or other means accessible from DSC’s website. The information collected by such affiliates or third-party companies is subject to their own privacy policies.

All data collected in the cloud where we operate (Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Office 365) is processed and stored in Mexico City in a high-security certified data center. You can choose not to share certain data with us; however, not disclosing certain information may prevent you from using some features of our website.

Automatically Collected Data: When you visit our website, we collect some data related to the transactions you are performing and your use of our website. For example, we automatically store your IP address for DSC’s internal use only, which helps us diagnose problems with our servers and manage our website. We also store certain information about your activities on our site, such as the type of internet browser you use and clickstream information. If you are a registered DSC customer, we will link this automatically collected information with your personal data collected as detailed in the sections below. DSC uses this information for internal research studies on your interests, helping us better understand your needs and improve our services.

Information You Provide: If you choose to share personal information with us, such as through an email or by completing a form with personal information and submitting it through our website, DSC will store such personal data. For example, if you register or sign up to participate in our KSB®, we will store your name, email address, phone number, and password, as well as your institution’s address, billing information, and payment method.

Information About Your Transactions: Additionally, DSC also stores data about your subscription and your purchase and payment history.

Cookies and Similar Files: Our website uses “cookies” and other similar files. “Cookies” are alphanumeric identifiers created by your browser at our request and stored in an approved and standard file on your computer. By transferring such cookies, DSC assigns you a unique customer code and history locator. This way, the information about the activities you perform on our website can later be added to your customer history, which is stored within DSC’s firewall. When you return to our site, we read the cookie that identifies you as one of our customers and help remember your passwords or preferences selected on previous visits. The cookie also allows us to retrieve your past activity history and account data, as well as personalize sections of our website and special offers based on your interests. The cookie does not store any personal information. Most web browsers accept cookies by default but allow users to reject them by changing browser preferences. If your browser is set to reject all cookies, some sections of our website, including the shopping cart, may not function properly. This Privacy Policy refers exclusively to the use of cookies by DSC and does not cover their use by third-party companies or websites linked to DSC’s site. We use the services of third-party companies to advertise our products. These companies may use a “cookie” or a tracking tag, also known as a “Web Beacon” or 1-pixel .gif file, which allows counting responses to an advertisement, measuring its effectiveness, or rewarding points or incentives to users who respond to such an advertisement. DSC does not have access to or control over the cookies or tracking tags used by these third parties. DSC also does not receive any personally identifiable information stored by these advertising companies through the means mentioned above, nor does it share personal data such as your name, phone number, or address with such companies, unless DSC’s Privacy Policy states otherwise.

Use and Disclosure of Information: The data we collect about you is used to manage, maintain, and improve our website, conduct our business, provide you with the products and services you have requested, manage your account, inform you about products and services that may interest you, and personalize your online experience. From time to time, to perform certain functions such as order fulfillment, email sending, or marketing tasks, we may hire other companies to perform these tasks on our behalf. These companies have access to the information they need to perform their tasks but are required to keep such information secure and confidential and not use it for any purpose other than fulfilling their contractual obligations to DSC. As part of the normal and necessary process to complete your order processing, and depending on the payment method you have chosen, DSC may provide your personal data to a third-party company responsible for processing that payment, such as PayPal. Please note that due to the limitations of the systems used by some financial institutions, the statement you receive from your credit card issuer or financial institution may reflect the name of the third-party company responsible for processing the payment, such as PayPal, instead of or in addition to the name of DSC. We may also share such data with other companies with which we have joint marketing agreements. We may provide information, including personal data, that we have stored about you at other times as required and permitted by law. For example, DSC reserves the right to provide personal data, including account information, when we believe it is appropriate to cooperate with any investigation of alleged fraudulent activities, enforce our Terms of Use, or protect the rights or property of DSC and third parties. Additionally, there is the possibility that in the future, DSC or its assets may be acquired by a third party. There is also the possibility that DSC may partner with or acquire another company to continue offering its services as a combined entity. In such a case, customer data, including your personal data, may be transferred to the new business entity as part of DSC’s capital. In that case, we would update this privacy policy to reflect any changes in terms of ownership or control of your personal data.
